As we begin the last month of 2020, the Town of North Topsail Beach would like to bring your attention to a few matters of interest:
Board of Aldermen Regular Meeting — The Board of Aldermen will hold their monthly regular meeting on December 3rd at 6:30 PM. Due to rising COVID-19 cases, this meeting is closed to in-person public attendance. You can watch the meeting live or later at your convenience on the Town’s YouTube channel. If you would like to participate in the public comment period, please submit your comments to the Town Clerk at email@example.com by noon this Thursday. Please remember to include your name and address. View the meeting agenda packet here.
Board of Aldermen Special Meeting — The Board of Aldermen will hold a special meeting on December 15th at 10:00 AM. The Town of Holly Ridge is working with a landowner, who voluntarily requested annexation of land to the city. The land is off island, but looking at a map, it seems closer to North Topsail Beach than Holly Ridge. Although separated by water, this “as the crow flies” proximity to North Topsail Beach triggers a legal requirement for Holly Ridge to obtain an agreement from North Topsail Beach. More details about that meeting can be reviewed here. The Board may take action on this mutually agreed upon annexation plan with the Town of Holly Ridge.
Limited Town Hall Entry — As a reminder, town hall visits are by appointment only until further notice. Town staff is reporting and working at town hall, but to reduce COVID-19 exposure, visitors will need to call ahead and schedule an appointment at 910-328-1349. Keep up with state and local COVID-19 restrictions at ntbnc.org/coronavirus.
Christmas Tree Donation — The Town will collect Christmas trees later this month. We place the trees on the dunes as a natural, environmentally safe way to bolster their strength. Look for more details about this program later this month.
