Topsail Island Vacation Rentals

Press Release

Topic: Topsail Island Vacation Rentals

The growing concern for the spread of COVID-19 is creating a lot of disruptions for all of us in our daily life. We understand that restrictions can be frustrating, but it is our collective responsibility to take proactive measures now to lessen the consequences for our community. Today, leaders across Topsail Island met to discuss a particular topic of concern: vacation rentals. Restricting vacation rentals for a short period of time could limit community exposure and protect local resources such as food and medical supplies. Additionally, taking these measures now may preserve the opportunity to have a successful season for both our residents and our summer guests.

With deep consideration for all possible outcomes, North Topsail Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach are in agreement that restrictions are needed.

Each municipality on Topsail Island is unique and therefore has factors particular to it. As such, there is some variance in how rentals are being limited. Each individual town will publish the specific restrictions to vacation rentals via an updated declaration within the next 24 hours. Look to your individual community for specific guidance for your town.

Please, continue to contact your representatives with concerns. This is an evolving issue and will be reevaluated on a continuing basis.

Thank you for your cooperation. Please follow your town’s website and Facebook for additional information and updates.
