About the Board
The responsibilities of the Planning Board are to propose, review and make recommendations on Town plans; to review and make recommendations on Planning policies, CAMA Land Use Plan amendments, Zoning Map changes and proposed changes to development ordinances. The Board is comprised of seven (7) members and two (2) alternates appointed by the Board of Aldermen.
The Planning Board meets the second Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at the Town Hall located at 2008 Loggerhead Ct.
At this time, Planning Board meetings are not live streamed. This presents a particular challenge in the Planning Board’s review of Special Use Permits and Subdivision applications. However, the required public hearing is held during the Board of Aldermen’s review.
To participate in the open forum, please Email the Clerk to the Planning Board your written comment by noon the day of the meetings. Staff will continue to work to comply with statutory requirements during this challenge of balancing serving the public and taking reasonable precautions.
The Planning Board issues monthly reports for the Board of Aldermen. These reports can be found within the monthly agenda packets.
