Weather Updates & Closure Notice
02/01/2026 02:15PM UPDATE
Due to hazardous conditions, the Town of North Topsail beach administrative offices will be closed Monday, February 2, 2026 with emergency personnel continuing to respond.
Our outstanding Police and Fire Department have been working diligently to open our critical facility roads today and staff will be starting to work on Town owned roads in the morning. Our backhoe will be starting at the south end, and our loader will be starting from the north end. NCDOT continues to focus on main roadways as noted in this morning’s brief.
Please stay off of the road ways while everyone continues to work through this event. Road ways that are being cleared will refreeze.

Please be safe NTB as we proceed through this winter event. Here are some pictures of conditions in NTB this morning. 12 inches of snow have been measured at the north end fire station this morning. Once winds are calm enough for our drone to fly, we will take and share footage. The most important thing you can do is to stay off all road ways. A state of emergency remains in effect. Staff is working to clear Town facilities where first responders navigate from to include Town Hall, Public Works, and our Fire Stations.
We have touched base with NCDOT this morning to discuss their operations and plan. They want to encourage everyone to stay off road ways and the longer you stay home the better it will be for them since driving packs the snow which becomes ice. They have been working 24/7 since Friday evening and focused on main thoroughfares right now. Everything that was pushed has blown back over re-covering roadways. Their operational plan is working on 17 South, 17 North, 24 towards Swansboro and 24 towards Richlands and then 214. Secondary Roads will be last.
